چکیده

Biocontrol is considered as an effective alternative to the application of agrochemicals, which are harmful environment, human, and animal health. In this study, twenty-six strains actinomycetes were isolated from rhizospheric arid soil halophyte Atriplex halimus L. ῾Guettaf’ in Biskra province, Algeria. The six isolates that have inhibited at least three phytopathogenic fungi among five tested (Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria alternata, Fusarium solani, Aspergillus flavus Botrytis cinerea) selected, been vitro against bacteria (Pectobacterium carotovorum Streptomyces scabies). They also evaluated for their ability hydrolyze phosphate, elaborate siderophores, produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), antagonize S. scabies vivo (on radish seedlings). Based on physicochemical analyses, samples categorized alkaline extremely-saline. antagonism results revealed varying antifungal potential selected (Act11, Act16, Act17, Act18, Act23 Act24), about 50% able inhibit growth F. solani A. flavus, followed by 33.33% those having antagonized while alternata was found be most sensitive. Only Act18 has with inhibition diameter zone 19 ± 0.41 mm. However, trials showed four counteracted scabies. Among them, Act24 significantly positively affected root surface (P = 0.0062) prevented common scab. IAA detected all being highest producer (77.45 μg mL−1). Additionally, degradation phosphate exhibited capacity elaborating siderophores. assigned genius according morphological, physiological chemotaxonomical traits. sp. tolerate 7.5% NaCl concentration, prevent scab exhibit some plant attributes, may promising biocontrol agents applied saline soils.

Plant growth-promoting traits of biocontrol potential bacteria isolated from rice rhizosphere

Seven isolates of bacteria (SRI-156, SRI-158, SRI-178, SRI-211, SRI-229, SRI-305 and SRI-360) were earlier reported by us as having potential for biocontrol of charcoal rot of sorghum and plant growth promotion (PGP) of the plant. In the present study, the seven isolates were characterized for their physiological traits (tolerance to salinity, pH, temperature and resistance to antibiotics and f...

The effect of plant growth promoting potentials of rhizosphere bacteria isolated from several halophytic species on vegetative growth and ionic content of wheat

Salinity stress is an important challenge for wheat production in the world. Plant growth promoting rhizosphere bacteria, isolated from halophytic plants, can increase the tolerance of crop plants to salinity by direct and indirect mechanisms. In this study, plant growth-promoting traits of bacterial strains (Bacillus safensis, Bacillus pumilus and Zhihengliuella halotolerans), isolated from th...

Isolation and characterization of plant growth-promoting bacteria from Syrian bean caper (Zygophyllum fabago) rhizosphere

Some rhizobacteria have positive effects on plants growth. Syrian bean-caper (Zygophyllum fabago) is a weed plant with medicinal value. This study was conducted to isolate and identify bacteria from Syrian bean-caper rhizosphere. Characteristics associated with plant growth stimulation, such as phosphate and zinc dissolution, production of Indole acetic acid and antifungal activity, were invest...

The tolerance of Atriplex halimus L. to environmental stresses

Atriplex halimus L. (Amaranthaceae) (Mediterranean Saltbush) is a perennial, halophytic shrub that possesses the C4 photosynthetic anatomy and physiology. It grows under semi-arid and arid conditions (annual rainfall < 600 mm) from Macaronesia, through the Mediterranean basin countries and into western Asia, being particularly common on saline and degraded soils. Many studies have shed light on...
